Osmo prep Preparation

You must have someone drive you home. You will be unable to drive for 24 hours.

FOUR DAYS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:
Fill prescription from your doctor for 32 Osmo Prep tablets.
Purchase a small bottle of MIRALAX from your pharmacy

DAY BEFORE EXAM (You may have a light breakfast)

On ____________________ you will be on clear liquids only, no solid foods or milk products. Clear liquids are coffee, tea, soda, water, apple/white grape juice, broth, Jell-O, Gatorade, and Popsicles.
NO RED LIQUIDS. Remain close to toilet facilities.

Mix the entire container of MIRALAX in ONE liter of water
At 5:00 PM drink 1 eight oz glass every 15 minutes until the solution is completely gone.

On the day before the exam at 7:00 PM, take 3 Osmoprep tablets with 8 oz clear liquid. Repeat every 15 minutes with the last dose being 2 tablets with 8 oz clear liquid for a total of 20 tablets.

DAY OF THE EXAM

On the day of the exam 5 hours before your exam, take 3 Osmoprep tablets with 8 oz clear liquid. Repeat every 15 min for a total of 12 tablets.

You may not have anything to eat, drink or chew after BEGINNING THE PREP

If you are asthmatic, please bring your inhalers. If you are diabetic, please bring your insulin. Bring a complete list of all medications you take along with the dosages, insurance cards, and your glasses.

5 Days before the procedure
Stop Coumadin, Plavix or any other Blood Thinners

Note: Please use baby wipes instead of toilet paper to avoid soreness
